EFL students’ perception of Grammarly’s feedback and how they deal with the inaccuracy

Grammarly is one of the famous Automated Writing Evaluation (AWE) tools used by EFL students. Many studies have revealed that this tool can improve students’ writing. However, evaluating Grammarly’s feedback accuracy, especially premium version, are still limited. This study aims to: (1) explore students' perceptions feedback, (2) provide a detailed analysis types inaccurate provided premium, and (3) investigate how students handle feedback. mix method questionnaire, semi-structured interviews, documentation to collect data. The participants were undergraduate who writing or had completed their thesis. results indicate that: positive negative on use Premium. They claimed Premium helped them in ‘correctness’ feature improved spelling, grammar, punctuation, convention, article, consistency. ‘clarity’ improves readability, such as conciseness passive voice. ‘engagement’ made varied ‘delivery’ get right tone. On other hand, complained about need stable internet connection work properly require additional proofreading due some inaccuracies. Inaccurate generally occurred features correctness (convention, consistency), clarity (passive voice conciseness), engagement (variety). Students continued because it self-proofreading even though shortcomings. In short, preferred with concern accepting
